Nothing particularly ground breaking or ingenious here. This started as an exercise to get extra use out of the dozen-odd B90 batteries I have scattered around the house.
Step 1: Replace lamp assembly with LuxIII
The heatsink has a TV0J mounted and is being driven by a DownBoy 1000.
Step 2: Machine a tailcap to accommodate the longer B90 battery
Nothing special here, a spring pilfered from a MiniM*g has been fitted in the bottom of the tailcap
Step 3: Remove cam from stock reflector
---------------------------------------
Final assembly:
Once the light was complete, I realized that the 2C/DB/LuxIII combination is very flexible for battery combinations:
Stock 2C linered down:
3 x 123
2 x Pila 150s (or 150A)
With B90 tailcap:
1 x B90
2 x Pila 168A/S (linered down)
And, if you were fortunate enough to get your hands on one of MR Bulk's A&B battery tube, 6AA's.
