M3 old and new versions - what\'s the difference

I see that the newer M3's from Surefire have a hex anti-roll bezel, and the older M3's have a round bezel, but what are the other differences between the two lights?

Do they both have pyrex lenses?

Any other differences?

I am not sure but I think the old M3 bezels have lexan lenses but others might know better than I. The second thing is the anti-roll feature you already mentioned.
I cannot remember anything else, maybe the cooling fins are different.

As with SureFire products, the flagship M3 has evolved.

Shelby's photos can show you many of the changes.

Here are four to note:

1) Introduction of Pyrex & AR coating.
2) Introduction of 2nd o-ring on TailCap.
3) Continued water-resisting improvements.
4) Harmonising of Millennium Series Bezel features with Anti-roll Bezel Hex feature and Cooling fins.

Do you need the latest version?
Do you find that your M3 leaks?
Do you find that your M3's Lexan Lens melts?
Do you find that your M3 doesn't stay where you put it and rolls away?
Do you need the latest version?

Thanks a lot for you post here and on the sure fire Forum!

Again, I am going to post this in both forums, so that others can read.

Do you know if one can purchase a Pyrex lense seperately? Will the new Pyrex lense fit an older M3?

If I had a chance to purchase new, the older style M3 at a reduced price, and just added a Pyrex lense with the AR coating (I am assuming that stands for Anti-Reflective), would you think that would be a good deal?

I do appreciate your answers, and thank you for answering my question on two forums!

It's my understanding that the lexan lenses can be field serviced, while the pyrex cannot. In that case, the bezel would most likely have to go back to SF to see about the pyrex swap.

Another option is purchasing the new bezel separately, and get both the pyrex and the anti-roll feature.

Why should you want the bezel with Pyrex lense to be field serviceable? I think the lexan lenses are only userreplaceable since they melt. And Pyrex lenses don't break.
So it is not a step-back that the pyrex lenses cannot be replaced by the user.
