Will this work?

SF M4 head married to a Leef body and powered with 18650's? I'd like to get in the 350+ lumen range while staying with the M4 form factor. The rub, I suppose, is tracking down the M4 head. Any thoughts? TIA.

PS. Any idea of how many torch lumens this will push using the high output bulb?

You mean like this:

I run either an MN20 or MN16 in it. They both put out 250-300 lumens on fresh cells. The MN16 is a bit whiter and the MN20 is more flood. With 2 18650s you need to run "9" volt lamp assemblies. If you do a 3 cell body you could run the MN60 from the M4. See this thread for more:

The head can be obtained separately (as a conversion kit for the M3 to make it into a turbo version). The kit has the designation KT4, and it consists of the head and 2 LAs (MN15 and MN16).

You would need a 'C-M' Leef body (this means an 'M' fitting head, 'C' fitting tailcap). The 2x18650 size Leef Body is the same length as the M4.

You would end up with a light like a shorter version of the one on the left in this pic. That one has a 3x18650 C-M Leef body. There is a 2x18650 C-M Leef body on the light on the right (fitted to an M3 head).

Ah, so.... somehow I missed the fact that the turboheads for the M3 and M4 are the same (KT4) - they just take different lamp assemblies depending on the power source, correct?

And yeah, those are exactly what I'm talking about.

BSBG - many thanks for pointing me to that thread. It should be a sticky or a Wiki. I've seen it previously, but at the time, it was not very relevant for me. It's relevant now.

DM51 - What a stash! You've clearly been at this a while having scored those SW01 tailcaps. Nice!

A follow-up question. I have an Ultra Stinger which is very convenient and which sees a lot of use. Would an assembly running 2x18650's provide a noticeable increase in output over the US or do I need to go another route? Thanks again.
