Glad we are moving forward again in the aerospace industry (just wait till someone come out and cut the funding again...) It's just sad that we are kind of stuck right now with something not much difference than what we had in the 1960's, or even worse, actually moving backwards since the Concorde's gone now. Like what my professor said, if we were moving at the 1960's phase, we would be running all over Mars already instead of some stupid robots. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Good points there, 6pOriginal. The great shame (as usual) with this technology is that it's first uses will be military, rather than civilian.

Congratulations NASA !

If you'd like to read more on the subject, a team from my uni in the Hyshot program successfully tested a scramjet in 2002. It reached Mach 7.6! They did it in the Woomera test range in South Australia.
