I just bought a Mag 1AA cutdown that has a MadMax plus WO TXOJ drop-in(thanks mike:twothumbs)and I want to know if I can run a 14500 rechargeable or I may have access to some 3.6v Lion 14505 disposables? I've searched the forums but still can't get the diffinative yes or no. I'm new to the forum, but I already scored in the ARC forum I got 2 of the closeout ARC AAA-P Camo's for $25 a crack:D
Thanks

i wouldn't recommend running them on li-ion's though since the madmax is designed to be a boost circuit and most LEDs run at a lower voltage compared to that of a li-ion. it won't be boosting voltage during the part where a li-ion still has a lot of energy left and will start to boost at a stage where the batt hasn't much energy left and is already in the critical voltage levels. :)

simple answer:
can you run it on a li-ion? yes
is it recommended? no

thanks for the reply and the link!,maybe I'll just stick to the AA lith 1.5v's

IIRC, it also depends on the Vf of the emitter. Lower Vf's can go :poof: with a single li-ion.

 ...or was that with the BB? Don't trust my rusty'ol memory, there are a few old thread where this is mentioned.

Update, I bought a Lith Crv3 pack @ Lowes and took it apart as mentioned on some other threads, it works great:twothumbsno :poof:and no extra heat/warmth what a great little torch:D
