Hi everybody.

Afew days ago i pickedup the new 3d/2aa rebel mag set over at costco(29.99) a very good price i might add.
Ive done loads of searching but i cannot findout how many lumens these mag's put out.
ive heard 140-160 for the 3d(-091 led bulb)
and around 50 for the 2aa(-090 led ulb)

those seem to be close to what the lights put out, i'd just like to know for sure What the lumens are.

I like the light's there built very well and are plenty bright enough for what i use them for. the weight of the 3d is more than i am used too, but with adapters and good eneloop aa's that takes care of the weight, plus if iam out walking and the SHTF i got me's a club again:nana:.
i will up load some pics here in a few minutes
thanks lee.

pic's as promised including beam shots and bulbshots ect.

i had to use a nickel sized washer to get the eneloop adapter to work with the 3dmag , but it works well.
beam shots were taken inside , it isnt dark yet here, plus it's raining and i melt in the rain :tinfoil:

the last 3 pics are of the 2aa

Based on comparisons with other lights I own, I think those numbers are right in the ballpark.
I believe Mag is going to use the new rating system in the near future, along with many other manufacturers, so we should get real #s soon.
Perhaps Mr.Gman could test a few...:poke:.

The Mag LED lights are VERY old technology. They use very energy inefficient (by today's standards) Lumiled's Luxeon emitters.

That being said, at $30 for both sizes, the price is so good it makes them a very good value for the money.

And, since you are using rechargeable AA's, anyways, you don't need to worry about the 'battery cost'.

I bought one of the 2 x AA Rebel (multimode) LED Minimaglights at Home Depot when they were on sale for $10.

At that price, I wish i had bought a few more. I consider it to be disposable flashlight, at that price.

But, it puts out plenty of light to change a tire, etc. So, it is living in my car. If my car gets broken into, and it gets stolen, I don't care.

Use the LED Maglights as the cheap workhorses they are. I wouldn't worry about 'out the front lumens' too much: do they put out enough light for what you want to do?

If they do, just use them.

I bought a Mini Maglite 2AA a year ago, and it has the single level mode. The output is somewhere between the low and medium levels (nearer to the medium) on my Fenix L2D Q5 which are advertised as 9 and 47 lumens. Fenix overestimate, so the real value might be ~25-30 lumens max. It is amazingly dim compared to the L2D on turbo (or even on high).
