Mag thrower - who has this ? any good ? lumen output ?

im getting a 6 d mag with the terralux 300m - seems a good not too expensive big light

next will be a thrower for fun, has anyone tried this out ? wondering if just a mag xenon and lens would be enough ? do i need the led rated 200 lumen mag xenon rated 230 lumen ?

The lens is best used in conjunction with a cree xr-e emitter. This is a good thread to start with if you're interested in aspherics

Unfortunately neither Mac or Ledean aren't making aspherics anymore.

I guess the surplus shed lenses are no longer available but they can be procured from Melles Griot at additional cost.

How is that terralux dropin working? I've been thinking of one myself.

well ive just recieved the terralux300m, sure is sexy and kinda looks stealthy in my black mag, first impressions are OK, dosnt seem as bright as i was hoping but hey i only just got it this morning so ill have to wait till tonight, looking head on im pretty sure i get much more blinded than stock haha
when i see my mate ill get him to fully charge hes stocker and get a side by side shot. i didnt just by it for brightness though, i love the fact that leds have constant brightness compared to incandesents slowly diming bulb, think this will give me a seemingly beter battery life, whereas i used to replace my batts previously as you run out of useable light - the batts are prolly only 2/3rds used lol.


EDIT - had some more playing around, it is brighter by quite a bit but the biggest difference is the size of the hotspot, stock mag has a tiny bright spot this one must be 4-5 times the size at a few meters, if you make the stockers the same size it has no light at all by comparison, the more i play the more i like
