Where can I get the reflector and the battery holder thingy for one I am trying to build?

What is the difference between the UCL and the Borofloat lenses at flashlightlens.com?

For your Mag85 you will want the borofloat, a type of Pyrex lens. The UCL is very nice but is coated with anti reflection clear compound, like the one in the new glasses or the ones they put in binoculars and scopes to enhance the light transmission. The heat of the 1185 is too much and will cook a halo in the coating.
UCL are fine for less demanding task (less heat)
hope it helps

That helps alot. Thanks.

Are the MOP reflectors going to be avaliable anytime soon?

Get the 1185 here. Note that there is a difference between a bi-pin and a potted 1185, and you need to select the right one for your light. If you are using the stock mag switch, get the potted bulb. If you are using a switch from a magcharger, get the bi-pin.

The only reason I halfway sound like I know what I'm talking about is because I've interrogated juancho so much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edited per post below.

best regards

I think you reversed the bulbs required per switch type. The stock mag will use the potted bulb while the magcharger will use the bi-pin.

Arrr. I wish I had seen this thread yesterday before I ordered the UCL lens. Why does Flashlightlens.com sell the potted WA1185 and the UCL lens as a package if the WA1185 will cook the coating on the UCL lens?
