My Mag85 is now done:

Reflector is a LOP.
Edit: Its a MOP

with awr's basic hot driver

I made a holder for the 3 Li-Ion 18650 1100mAh batterys. This are high high-current batterys from a dremel. (10,8V Lithium-Ionen Part No. 855)
First I purchased Energizer 2500 HR, but @ 3.3 A they fall quickly down to 1.1 Volt and below, so i changed to Li-ion.

I modifed also the tailcap. The contact is now at the end of the spring. I used tabs from battery and solder them together. (Spring didn't accept solder)

stuning white beam
On a far distance the beam looks oval :sigh:
I have to try a smo reflector.

very awesome! I am in the process of getting my Mag85 assembled...

you need one of the 2" deep FM reflectors... that way you get a tight circle hotspot 😀
