Is the Magcharger charging cradle "dumb" or does it have electronics inside?

Basically I'd like to hack the ends off of the cradle and hook it directly up to my hobby charger in order to charge my 9aa to 3d adapter without having to constantly remove it from the light every time. Is this possible??

My setup is a Magcharger with an FM high temp ceramic socket running an 1185 off of the 9aa adapter. I just cant stand always removing the pack and charging it with alligator clips. How cool would it be to snap it into the cradle and charge it proper with my hobby charger?!?

Thanks for any tips!

Well I just realized that there is an LED charge indicator light on the cradle so there must be some electronics inside. I'm thinking this is not going to be possible (I'm sure this would've been done already anyway if it was that easy LOL).

I may just tear it apart, gut it and solder leads directly on to the +/- contacts and connect it to the Hobby Charger that way.

I never use the thing anyway.

Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!
