Maglite 2 D Cell to 18650's - Which LED?

I am converting my 2D Cell Maglite to a pair of 18650's - What is the best "drop in" replacement LED?

Two 18650s is roughly equivalent to 6 NiMH cells. Most folks would say to go with the Malkoff drop-in.

Thanks - is there anything out there that will work and is a touch brighter?

Pm jayrob he makes a custom dropin with several options that is easily 1000 lumens and runs about 89$ for one.

Also Mac is selling sst50 dropins for 99$ that are 800 lumens otf

TerraLux also makes 1000 lumens drop in which will work with 2x18650
