Maglite 3d into a bike light

Picked up one of these 3D maglite (£15) http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/n...refview=search&ts=1232301939506&isSearch=true today and im going to put a 12v MR16 50w lamp into it for my bike:thinking: Will I need to bypass the switch or can I carry on using it? Just a bit worried about it taking the extra voltage.

Not a problem if I need to bypass it as I could fit a heavier switch inline from the remote battery.
