Having just got my C9000, I was interested to do a few tests especially on some old cells I had, given that many people here just chuck out old cells and so tests on the capability of the C9000 on these cells are rare and interesting if for that reason only.
The cells were 4 Sanyo "Cadnica" nicd 700mAH cells about 10 years old although not actually used all that much and having been stored for years on end. I had previously charged them recently in a Minwa 5798 which those here will know only charges in pairs, although it does have a three cycle discharge/charge function which I had used on these cells when I resurrected them recently.
I used 300mA to discharge and 700mA to charge in the 'Refresh and Analyze' mode and the C9000 worked flawlessly on these old cells. They came up at 655, 674, 612 and 648 mAH and 1.44(3) or 1.43(1) volts with no termination problems at all.
For comparison I also charged two 2650mAH Duracell nimh cells purchased just recently. Also using the 'Refresh and Analyze' mode and 500 discharge and 1500 charge, they came up at 2684mAH and 2657mAH at 1.44 volts.
All in all very impressive. I have the OG**** version by the way.
