Making a power failure light

How would I make one? AC in to recharge batts and to light a neon lamp. And no ac the bulb lights up how would I do that? possibly make it an LED flashlight also

Hello,

Small transformer/rectifier/series resistor
to charge the batteries.
Simple transistor inverter to drive the led and
detect ac output from the transformer.
Series resistor for LED.

Sound easy enough? 🙂

The easiest way would be to buy a cheap small UPS for a computer then plug the light in to that.
