Yes its the same, its 3.3V max. been covered several times.
More about that 2xAA body?
Indeed, I was going to put an M31 in my outsized FiveMega 1xAA keyring light, which is currently equipped with a 0.9-4.2V Dereelight XP-G. This changes things. I may replace the Dereelight with a NailBender XR-E, in neutral white, with Nailbender's 8- or 40-degree optic and low-voltage driver. At heart, I'm a flood lover; I would lean toward the 40. But a 1.6V AA cell just won't deliver enough lumens to spread over 40 degrees, so I may try the 8; after all, I also carry a 2AA Malkoff M30WF, which is plenty floody (30 degrees) and plenty bright. One 30-degree flood, one 8-degree spot would cover a lot of bases.
Too bad; I prefer 1-level lights, but the low-voltage offerings from Thrunite and Nailbender are all 3-level. Dereelight makes my current module in single-level, but their 0.9-4.2V high-output XP-G (1.5A) is available only in 3-level and you don't get a choice of tint. Thrunite's 1.5A XP-G drop-in is available in single-mode, but neither it nor the 3-mode version is regulated below 2.7V.
Maybe I should just buy a thin-head AA like a Quark in neutral-white and call it a day...
Yes! An M3#L variant!
Muhahahah!
Um...can we go ahead and sign up for email notification on these now?

We now have the answer: full regulated output is reached at 1.8 volts...just north of the output provided by a nickel-zinc cell. The low voltage P60 drivers from the rest of them give partial power with 2 AA cells.
The M31 will/might give full power with 1 or 2 AA cells😗
The 2 X AA body is now featured.

This finding ratifies my purchase, 2 hours ago, of a 1AA Romisen single-mode flashlight in neutral white, for $21 shipped. If all goes as hoped, the Romisen will dislodge the 1AA Fivemega/Dereelight 1.2A XR-G from my keychain. The Dereelight has 3 modes, and I'm a single-mode guy.
RC-G2 II ?
BC, I would guess you would see some mild overdrive, if that. 1A draw from cells should pull it down below 3.3 before it gets to LED.
