Cathy and I will be traveling to Boise, Idaho to tour the manufacturing
plant, and supervise the first run, where the M60 will be entering into
production. On that note Malkoff Devices is pleased to annouce an alliance
with Tactical Design Labs and Imperial Designs of Boise.
OMG! I awoke this morning and got this email...

M60s (and I'm assuming the L, LL, F etc) are going into production...
Thought I should share it here for people to celebrate =D

Just wanted to wish Gene and Cathy all the best in the new venture!
It'll be nice having a constant flow of Drop-ins... Although my Wallet is gonna be wimpering a lot more now...

Yay! congrats gene on the major progress on your outstanding product. I can see this now, everyone will end up having one of these now.

I think it's great, too. Makes me grateful that I got several built by the man himself, although Boise would be a nice road trip for me.

Congratulations on your growing success, Gene and Cathy!

:twothumbs:party: Congrats to Gene! I hope that also includes the M30's and any derivative versions of that drop-in...:naughty:

I'll be in for at least one if not two M60's, as soon as Gene can get the R2 pill! I don't imagine it'll be much longer before these become more available.

Good Luck Gene. I will definitely buy more M60 drop-ins. Maybe more will be readily available since these will be in production by a manufacturing company instead of each being hand made. I'm sure they will pay as much attention to detail on each drop-in as Gene has and will live up to his quality standards otherwise they wouldn't be making them for him.

For the first time in several months I have enough extra money to buy a Malkoff light for my Surefire. They're out of stock.

Any ideas on how soon I can order one?

Wow, congrats. I wonder if this means more product diversification in the future. I hope the same stellar custom service will still apply with an increased market.

Cheers!

I'm assuming they will go down...?

When they first came out and Gene was building them part time = very limited availability = $$$

Gene decides to make the modules full time = regular/somewhat limited availability = $$

Going into production = very very available = $

That's what I'm hoping for as well !

great to see a success story like this.

Malkoff will soon be the "feature" name for production lights that Carl Zeiss is to cameras!

But really Gene.. will this mean a drop in price after production?

What about "in the mean time", will you continue to produce and upgrade the models while ironing out production and sales issues on the grand scale?

I will treasure my hand built M60, good luck and success Gene.

Same here, I may actually retire mine to shelf queen status. Maybe...

More availability will be nice though. :caution:It's been theorized that once every police officer in America has a Malkoff crime will officially have no-where to hide.

I'm not privy to Gene and Cathy's business plan but would assume that the change from Gene making the M60's to having them made under license will allow Gene to spend more time on developing alternative LED modules for other flashlights. Gene has already hinted that he would like to make modules for Streamlights and I suspect he has other plans afoot as well? I personally hope he will still keep making some of his other creations at home and sell through his existing website? Whatever his plans it can only be better for us as consumers as now his creations will be more easily sourced.

As to his 'M' range of modules becomming cheaper I'm not worried as I'm happy paying the current asking price for the performance and quality of his products as I wouldn't have the same degree of confidence in any other after market drop-in.

Well done Gene & Cathy.....let the good times roll!:)

Gene, I hope you get a Government Contract for 100,000 pieces...to start.

:paypal:

Surely, just as other prices are dropping ... cost of food, heating oil, electricity, diesel, brass, etc. :poof:

It should help avoid (at least for now) the price increases that we see in almost every other sector.
