Hey everyone,

I was doing some reading up on CRI and R-values, and I couldn't find a concise answer, but can it be that the new SST20 drop-in is actually a R9590 one?!

I'm pretty sure it has an Ra value of 95, but do we have an R9 measurement for it somewhere?

Thanks!

Well yes, I love this drop-in, I'm just curious about the hard facts.

I found (a) datasheet:

Which mentions that all 4000K High-CRI LEDs fall into the "CRI Code - H" category, which means a minimum of 95 CRI.
Also on page eleven it has a "Typical Relative Radiant Power" graph, which in the 625–700nm ( color red ) range is particularly high.

I'm not able to answer your question, but I an looking at the 4000k MDC AA light at 95 CRI, however, at only 90 lumens it would definitely be an indoor light for me. I don't think I've had a 95 CRI light before but not sure what Malkoff’s Hound Dog Super and his Wildcat V6 are in 4000k. I had both of those before.

I thought the sst-20 4000k 95cri had a very good R9. According to tests published on another forum people are seeing R9 of 96 for the J4 FB4 bin!

I have M61N and M61NL in both the xpg2 and sst20 varieties. Both are absolutely stellar. Interestingly I find the xpg2 slightly more pleasing here as it offers a slightly warmer/rosier output. It’s very close, though.

I have a MDC SST20 4000k 95cri & I gotta say now that I have the Neutral HD I actually prefer the 4000k XP-L. Despite lower CRI, it has a lovely rose tint & looks almost identical to an Incan beam on a white wall (closest approximation ive seen). Actually appears closer to 3700k then 4000k to my eye. Im quite blown away by it, possibly the best LED tint ive seen. SST20 looks positively greenish in comparison, although less noticeable on higher outputs.

But in all seriousness can you point me where? Because I have searched far and wide, and the only hard data I could find was the one from the datasheet I posted above, but that's not measured values.
