Sold/Expired Malkoff MD1

Very nice but just wanted to insure the op understands the M31 is 3 volts max.

Mine is with an M61T using an 18500 battery.
I'd have to think through using an M31 dropin. I'd defintely ask you. haha
The MDC line has just about every <=3 volt options covered that I don't think about ways to use the M31 dropin.

Thanks for all the responses! Didn't realize the fivemega bodies were such a great option. I'll have to look further into that.

I am planning either primaries or 3v rechargeables. Thinking M31L or M31LL with a high/low switch. The M61L or M61LL is tempting but I like having the option to chuck in a primary cell. Though now that you mention it, a handful of 18350 cells are just as easy to carry as a handful of CR123s!

Mega has a MD1 and MD1.5. I can almost guarantee you that's the only way to get one. I've got his...mine works and looks just like a Malkoff.

When Oveready starts making them again.... you can get their zero-rez twisty tailcap and run 18500. It makes 15mm of room.
But that really commits you to that platform b\c that is $85....but it's a bulletproof twisty.

The M31 with a high-low ring is a fun idea.

@thermal guy will know every possible way to build out and run a Malkoff.

A M61L or actually any M61 will run forever on a single 3 volt primary cell. At a much lower output but will still be at a LLL level. 50-60 hours.Did this test a few months ago.

You guys are awesome. Lots to think about. I'm going to go ahead and mark this as "Sold," because the fivemega bodies are exactly what I was looking for. I would contact @MartinDWhite if I had the money to purchase a new MD2 and have it cut down, or an MD3 for the extra spacer. But then we're talking serious money.

Excitedly contemplating this M61 or M31 build. I'm sure you'll hear about it elsewhere!

Cheers

curious to see the final result...please post a pic of it once it's finished

I bought the FM MD-1.5 soon after reading this thread. I also had a Zero Res cap laying around. Definitely a solid twisty and fits a 18650 in it too! I'm running an M61NL drop in and it's an awesome indoor light.
