Here are a couple more graphs: M61NL
It will take a little work to make a comparison graph, so i will get back to that.

I'd love to make the graph but the ole hound dog is still chugging away. We are almost to 40hrs and still a useable 2.5-3lm. It's kind of bouncing around, so voltage may be getting low

I have 2 more graphs i can make and a couple more that are on the sd card the hd is currently running on.

I'm not quite as motivated as i should be but we are making some progress

I’m am absolutely floored on how long this thing is running at!! Still very usable light after 40 hours!!!

IMO the way the beam is on this light there is still plenty enough light to walk around with. Do you agree with that?

yes, I agree. Even at the 2-3lm, i can shine it across my garage (which has a lot of light bleed through) into the attic on the other side and i can still see well enough. If it were dark, I think you could easily light your way on a walk without disturbing anyone.

If you were just using the low mode off a fresh set of batteries it would be roughly 7lm but it would appear much brighter.

How’s the hound dog looking?

I've been gone working all week. Just got home a few minutes ago. It is actually still running, figured it'd be dead by now. It's been running all week.

It's bouncing around a bit 0.1-0.4lm but you can still use it if need be, just to get around without stumbling. Still brighter than a typical light.

Going to end the test later after i get up, but probably won't be able to make a graph till another time. My schedule got messed up this week.

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

I just realized something. There is no chart for Hound Dog XML on 4x123 Rayovacs. i.e. primaries.

that would be interesting to compare to the HD 18650 on primaries that you already have.

Or you can just estimate it.

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

the moment some have been waiting for. Special request: Neutral HD 18650 2x Eneloop Pro

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

Thanks for doing this my friend I know you hate the long ones.i love how the output just drops to nothing but the light is still very usable. I’m at 15 days on my test and I can still read very wellit and move around the room.

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

I would like to think that starting out in low mode would run twice as long if not longer

I came home yesterday which was the 13th day and light was dead. Going back through the data was hard because this meter doesnt read below .1 lumen and this particular test was bouncing around a bit once we got to 1lm and below.

I'm pretty sure it was still running on the 12th day and possibly part of the 13th, but I'm not sure how the output was, so i stopped the graph at 10 days to make it easier.

The light was probably as you are describing when i left Monday night.

I have a cw wildcat and cw hd 18650 test i need to make graphs for. Then i need to come up with a plan for tests this week while the m91t md2 test is running.

I'll probably start with cw wc md3 primaries test

I need to try and get at least 1 initial test for ea light/module

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

HD 18650 CW

CW vs N....I'm not sure why but the N did better. This may eventually need a retest on both lights. Data does not add up

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure

I have decided that I am planning to try and work on Cool White tests in attempt to complete some modules and move them to better homes. While this sounded like a win/win plan; after looking, it appears there are way too many options for testing. I still plan to focus on Cool white. I am not sure I want to test every single possible option on these or stick to the main options.

ETC also made a comment about MD4 primary tests. I'm pretty sure i initially stated that I didn't want to run these tests and MD3 would suffice. I'm not sure it's worth wasting 4 more primaries on every MD4 light just to see a slight gain in runtime. I only have so many primaries for these tests. If I end up with extras, I will only run MD4 primary tests on Neutral lights.

If i try to run every test variation possible, it will likely take years to accomplish as there are way too many options for many of these lights/modules. This is why I feel for the moment that I need to just test the main tests. I want to try and do many tests on Cool white Modules to keep it fair, but I am currently not planning to run tests that most would not use. Hopefully this makes sense.

On some of the tests I may just limit the run. For example, M31 series is rated for 0.8-3.3v. This allows us to run: Alkaline AA, Eneloop, Eneloop Pro, Energizer Lithium, Primary, and all the 2x AA variations. That is 9 tests for 1 module. Definitely not going to happen for every module/light, especially in Cool White. If I decide to run some of these 9 tests; depending on module, I may limit the run to show the main curve and keep the tests short enough to get the idea of what can be expected.

I may choose a few lights to run all tests on but it definitely will not be for every module/light. Some tests will just have to be special request only.

So, I made my own special request and this will not apply to everyone as ETC stated he tried on 3 M91T modules with no luck. I guess i got the golden M91T (which will be available once all testing is complete)

M91T MD2 18650GA Protected!!!! Pretty impressive if you ask me

While your real world data is much appreciated by all of us here, the number of possible permutations is endless, so hopefully you are doing the runs which are of the most interest to you and others ....

Malkoff will keep making new modules, so don't forget to keep this hobby fun for yourself too, buddy !

I typically do not care about runtime, but some of these tests have definitely helped me in making choices of what i think I want to keep and what I think I can let go of.

Lately, I find the fun being on tests that most wouldn't think of...like the recent tests. It's pretty exciting to see some of these modules work when they shouldn't be able to according to the specs.

I am one of those people that want to help and provide as much as i can so there will be no unanswered thoughts. However that is a tough task to accomplish in this regard. I do feel better this week and I am more motivated to try and get several tests done this week.

I have found that i do not have enough parts to make complete lights for all my modules. I was trying to clean up so I could post a new picture of the Malkoff family. Not sure i want to buy more bodies/heads, etc as i know i will be letting go of several items eventually. I'll get it all figured out though.

I know ETC will want a graph similar to this, so i am posting it. I feel it is a good comparison

I stopped the the test at 350 hours. It was still going and putting out more light/throw then my hds lights on the lowest setting. 14.5 days on a set of alkalines😊
