At the very end of these runtime threads, there should be a baseline of an old model Zebralight on low, in parenthesis.
- they do go on forever though.

I ran two alkaline AA in an MD3 out of curiosity and got about 4 days of dim but usable light, something like an incandescent mini mag, and at day 7 it still glows dimly. Think I'll try 3 cr123s on low next unless it's been done already.

I haven't done many low mode tests because they take way too long to run. I know members and woodswalker have played with many different setups though. A lot of the info is lost in the main thread somewhere.

Yes, if you just need small amounts of light, they do extremely well for those desperate times
 
I can do it and let you know. I have two of the m361 warms so I can compare them but don’t know about runtimes.
 
THat'd be awesome. Thanks thermal! Not sure if you have a hi low ring also but it'd be cool to see what the output levels are when switched to low.

Oh. Well that’s a problem.only host I have for 3XAA is a FiveMega host. I can put one in there and my other in my MD2 and compare side by side.bout all I can do.

Ok just checked it out with my M361 warms. One in a MD2-18650. One in a 3XAA host running 3 Duracell’s They are pretty much identical except the 3XAA is a tad brighter. I’m guessing the higher volts of 3 AA Is why.i can try for pictures later but all my beam shots turn out looking like tha Aurora borealis😁. So ya they are the same within a few lumens but not sure what will happen a few hours down the road when the AA start running low. I would think low and medium would be just about the same but not sure high would get great runtimes on 3XAA. I Mean with my m60LL runtimes are great off of AA but not sure about the M361’s. But yep all levels are the same at least at startup between a 18650 And 3AA

No problem. You may be on to something with the m361 the draw on low is extremely small. Runtimes will be huge. And you can always switch to high if you need more light. I may just put one in my 3XAA host as see how I like it.
 
Well I saw from Infrnl's graphs that the M61lll runs for a loooong time on 3xaa and even respectable on 2aa so wondered what the m361 could do. Couple it with a hi\low ring and I imagine you could have light for quite a while. I'm a Eneloop guy so my main interest is in what does well on AA even if it's in a not so common form factor. Can anyone tell me if I'm correct in thinking that the MD4 can take 3xAA in its stock form? Does it need an extension\adapter of some sort?

You won’t get 3 AA in an MD4 host. There a good 1/2-3/4 inch to long. His extender might work but I don’t have any experience with it.
 
I honestly don't remember how i did 3x eneloop. The extender doesn't add a whole lot of length.

I most likely had to loosen the tailcap quite a bit among other things.
 
Hi @INFRNL,

Can you run the E2 Hyper Throw/Scout M600 High Output Head (35kcd) with 1x18650 in the MDC 18650 to E-series body?
 
I have not run any tests in quite a while. I still have some data that i haven't even posted.

Unfortunately I don't have that head or a mdc 18650 body. Some of the members might be able to give you some useful info though in the main thread though
 
Yes. I know there are a few members that use those heads. Grizzman knows quite a bit but not sure if he has ever checked runtime. He also has a light meter that he can test lux

So exactly 1 hour and 6 minutes with a M60F running on 2X Fenix 700mah 16340,s. Not to shabby.
