Mammut headlamps

While poking around REI today, I noticed that Mammut's put out a cosmetic update to their headlamps... grey instead of red, and the plastic has a soft, almost suede feel to it that's nice. The switch (At least on the TR1 and TXlite) was redone too to be easier to push, especially with gloves on, and the TR1 now comes with a really ugly snap-on diffuser. Unfortunately, they didn't upgrade the LED in the TXlite (One of my favorite headlamps) along with everything else. Still just a luxeon I. :thinking: Why go to the expense of retooling the casing and not update the guts while you're at it?

yowzer, mammut have this green/gray in their offer since beginning - but as red is looking more "pro" so they don't order the gray versions too often - now they add one or two new colors to each model

It's more than just a different color. The material itself is different, and the switch has been redesigned on the TR1 and TXLite models compared to older ones. There were other changes too, but those are the big ones. I didn't see any TX1 or Zooms to see if they've been updated too.

I wouldn't have bothered posting if it was just a new color.
