Reflected light tells a story that can be read by those who see it.

Such a cool photo.
There's something about making eye contact with marine mammals underwater. There's a little transaction of sorts that takes place. It's totally different to the eye of say, a shark.
I've had some cool ones (also mildly intimidating) free diving in murky water with pods of large dolphins that would have detected me from way off, but were unknown to me until we exchanged glances at close range in passing.

Oh.. I had forgotten how much I enjoy these, Don. I'm not really near the ocean, but I am curious what your setup is for underwater photography. I have a decent camera for hiking, but it doesn't react well to water..

Thank you Don!!
Any story to go with that photo?
Had a friendly whale come over and hang around the boat for a while. It was an incredible encounter having him come within reach and check us out.

Awesome pics and time. We had a similar experience 2 years ago while in Maui. The mom and yearling mugged us for over 90 minutes, couldn't start the boat, and they just hung around, looking at us, and posing..
Will be back to Maui in about 6 weeks.
