I started this by accident, a few years ago.
I got 2 Sure Fire Weapon lights, a M3, and a M4Turbo Type, from a buddy for a good price.
I used the M4, hand held a few times, and realized that having IT as a Weapon Light gave me the best of BOTH WORLDS...
Clamped on a Rifle it worked great....
However, if I was "in the dark" and not needing the rifle it was clamped on, but needing its BRIGHT LIGHT", I could unclamp it, and use it in the field, or on a road trip.
SO, by buying a HIGH Lumen Sure Fire Weapon Light, It can do double duty...
When on the rifle, it has new batteries and a very low runtime bulb.
When on the road I put in its "traveling/using bulb.
