Can anyone help me fix my 2 stage switch on my Maxlite AA? I like the light
alot but the switch is not working very well. Doesn't look dirty or broken that
I can see. Otherwise my $200 light isn't doing me any good. I PM'ed ArcMania
but no response so far. Thoughts? :)

Re: Maxlite Switch problems

You might want to get the standard clicky which was offered by TNC for the Maxlite 1 as an accessory. I bought it and I am very satisfied with it.
ArcMania should also be able to still offer you one.

Re: Maxlite Switch problems

I PM'd Don about the switch problems and he recommended a simple fix that worked wonders for me. I cut of the bottom "washer" off of a CR123 and put it on top of the metal switch and it gave it just enough lift to make it work like a charm.

Ordered a switch and tried the washer fix. It is like a different light, amazing!

benny,

take a dead cr123, hold it negative side up. you see where the plastic lip is on the bottom of the battery. that is thick plastic (like a washer) if you cut that off you can put that between the rubber clicky part of the tail switch and the mcgizmo switch. it should provide enough height between the rubber and the switch to help it work properly.

hope it helps.

If I buy one of the Leef McClicky Tailcaps for my Maxlite, I will only get the high beam...correct?

Are these tailcaps high quality?

Unless I'm mistaken, all of Leef's tailcap are C-series compatible, which will not fit the Maxlite. You need an E-series compatible tailcap. Regardless, yes, the McClicky is a single-stage switch, so you will give up your low output mode.

If you want a McClicky-based tailcap for the Maxlite, check out the aforementioned TnC SF series.
