Okay, I think I know the answer, but I don't like it so I thought I would check and make sure my math is correct with someone who can do a more exact measurement.
I am looking at a Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger to carry a new 15" Macbook Pro laptop and assorted other gear. But will it fit?
Here are the numbers:
Macbook Pro 15"
-14.1" x 9.6"
Monsoon Gearslinger
-18" high (no problem here)
-16" wide tapering to 6" wide at top
Therein lies the problem. What is the rate of taper? If the 10" of tapering occurs at a steady rate, then it is a .56" taper for every inch of vertical height. Thus at 14" high, it will be about 7.7" wide...too small for the laptop to fit.
But, as this looks like it would be a great bag for comfortable carry of a laptop (after a while, side carry bags get annoying), I wanted to see if someone would mind measuring an actual bag and posting the results for me. Many thanks!
