Maybe the PT Apex or something else?

Hi,

Firstly I have to say I've learnt alot about current led head torches reading this great forum over the last few days.


The Need
I need a new head torch mainly for navigating around the mountains at night, so weight and power are an issue.

So far I have been looking at PTs 3 different versions of the Apex, have liked the look of the Apex and the Apex Extreme. From PTs website, am I correct in the following:

1) The Extreme has a longer & wider reaching beam?

2) On max power the extreme will last longer? (takes more batteries)

3) Are they any other head torches I should be looking at which give a similar light output?
