Hello :)

I won't to build a stone simple LED light,based on one Cree MC-E,and powered by a B&M Dymotec S6 that I have.
To replace the original Halogen Lumotec, which is just not enough for my needs.

The regulated output of S6 fits MC-E's current and voltage requirements just nice,
so I want need to take out the Zender diodes.
So yes,I'm thinking of wiring the chips in 2 series, and those two pairs in anti-parallel.

The question is,would they be able to withstand the negative current?

I just want to keep it simple, cheap, and affective, and therefore I'm not very interested in bridge rectifier, capacitors, pcb's and all that stuff,
if it could work as it is,just LEDs and some wires.

howdy,

I think that this idea would work. The MC-E datasheet says that each die can tolerate 5v in reverse. Since they should only see the Vf of another die (3.9v max at 500mA), they should be just fine.

by the way... didn't I just see you (Igor) at BikeCurrent?? ;-)
