How reliable is the McClicky switch? There have been quite a few reports on the Surefire clicky failing from time to time, so is the McClicky more reliable? Anybody had one failing on you?

Not yet. All working properly here. :D

BUT ... considering the number of SF clickies vs McClickies out there I'd rather not base my analysis of the reliability of the switch on the number of failure reports.

It is true though that there have been issues with the Z57 and the U2 switch.

P.S.: IMHO the biggest asset of the McClickie module is the fact of its modularity in different tailcaps for the E-Series ... like a guarded McTC cap on HA-NAT lights etc.

Thanks Bernie. I've just put a McClickie in a trim tailcap for a nice tail standing use on my A19/Cree/FluPIC light. The innards does look a bit tiny IMO, but so far it's been working fine. I've been clicking it silly all evening :naughty: Thumb needs a rest now :green: :D

I went thru my first one about a week ago- still not sure what happened. It would click on but intermittently(?) go out or blink. Right near the last, it wouldn't stay on at all. New one from the Shoppe works fine though!

All of mine are fine, and I have a few. The very first one I received had too much lube in it, causing it to be intermittent. I posted about it here.

I have had a few Z57's go wonky and they are hard to open and fix. The McClikie is buy far the best, and even if it does die you just screw in a new one for under 10 bucks, try that with a Z57.
