If you have read any of my posts for the last few months, you'll know that I am enamored with McGizmo's titanium lights - enough so to have sunk a small fortune into a collection rather quickly. My EDC rotation includes a Haiku XP-G, Ti PD-S, CREEmator/2x Ti McClicky Pak and sometimes a Lunasol 27 - the others mostly get admired. Shame - too good to waste, but selling them is out of the question for now, so shelf queens they are!

Meanwhile, have you heard about DC's weather lately? Here's a photo of what is going on right now - can we say "Blizzard conditions?"

Here's a look at my patio table...

So what does this have to do with the L1 Mule? Simple - I don't really want to carry a $$$$ flashlight out in this weather - and I have to take my 2 dogs out for their, ahem, 'walks' several times a day - and night. Need light!! And even though I don't want to lose it, the L1/Mule seems like the perfect choice - relatively inexpensive and a beautiful, huge flood of bright light - plus easy interface to use for my big hands in big gloves.

No beamshots - just some eye candy

So if you happen to chance upon a good deal on an L1 and you can imagine finding uses for a VERY bright, uniform 2 level wall of light, I'd highly recommend you grab the L1 and order yourself a 'mule' from 'the man.'

"And that's all I have to say about that....."

:D

Nice review! I recently picked one up on CPFMP, and agree entirely! Super useful wall of light, works and fits a bit better for me with gloves than my EN mules... Same UI as the PD's, if you stretch a bit... twist or press for light, twist or press more for more! Your last snow missed me here in NY, but today, maybe a foot.

What a great light! I know I love my McGizmo Arm's Length Mule. :)

To this day, my primary EDC is Milkyspit's Boxster L4 mod. But when I travel I always swap it out for my L1-ALM and spare primary 123s. The compact size and tailstand capability make it the perfect night stand light. I'm looking forward to my next iteration in the E-series/L4 EDC: Milky's Gossamer. Smooth floody beam, multilevel output, L4-form factor, and massive output. I can't wait. :twothumbs

PS. Hey Run, I see you're in the DC burbs. I'm going to be moving down to the Falls Church area this spring.

I've read your review of the ALM and it had a positive effect on me...might even say it influenced me.

As for moving to Falls Church, I lived there for year before I bought my house in Vienna, but I'm actually closer to Falls Church than I am the 'town' of Vienna. Great area - welcome - we'll have to hook up when you get here. I've observed a number of CFP Flashaholics in the general DC area!!

Very cool, Run. I look forward to it! Maybe I can hit you up for some information about the area? Neighborhoods and such as we'll have one school-aged kid coming down with us.

Good to see your still around Ginseng. I thought you had gone for good.
Nope. It's hard to shake the flashaholic bug. And now that my graduate school work is done and me about to start gainful employment again, I daresay I'll be looking to get back into the game. Baby steps. Baby steps.
