MDX-22.3 lens/dropin fitment?

I've not done anything with the MD# line, to date, just smaller E-series, and dropins. I'm thinking of maybe doing a custom little flood baton MD4, if I can reasonably build one. On the MDX head, does the lens fit inside the outer rim of the dropin, like the VME, or over the outer rim, like the way M61s fit in normal P60 hosts?
