Measuring Amperage??

Alwright I have just got to ask.

How do you properly measure amperage draw of lights (incan or led) on the battery pack? The meter has got to be in series in the circuit (I think) and the only way I can figure to do it would be with the tail cap off and the meter completing the gound circuit between the bottom of the batteries/holder and the body of the light?

So give it up, how are you doing this??

That's exactly the way to do it. Set your meter on the highest Amp range and plug the wires in (COM) and (A) or what ever they are called on your meter.

You said amperage "on the battery pack". If you want to know the current going to the emitter and there is a regulating converter involved in driving the LED, then it becomes more complicated, and you will have to disassemble the light.
