Melbourne CPF meet

Man, wish it had been scheduled for January 3-4. I'll be in O-town then, but back out of town by the 17th...

:poof: go my dreams of a CPF meet...

Okay, so I probably should have looked at your locations before deciding that "Melbourne" referred to "Melbourne, Florida". You know, a meet in a little-known city in Florida made a lot more sense than an internationally-known city in Australia...

Anyway, for those who were in suspense, "O-town" refers to Orlando, Florida (think Disney World). Any self-respecting Melbournian (from Florida) would know that...

Thats OK bro... you're welcome to join us anytime, we're a multicultural lot! :D

Studley Park in Kew. That area we went to he last time wasn't really that good. There's another area in Studley Park where there's an oval, that place will be deserted and not have any couples frolicking on the river banks.
So what are you supposed to target with your HIDs then? hopefully not overhead aircraft LMAO :thumbsup:

Great idea for a get together, my best wishes & apologies as I work weekends so I'm out before even getting started! ;)

BTW Norm, shouldn't your GPS have the ability to have it's 'maps' upgraded/installed?

I use a TomTom One XL and OneXL Easyport(as backup) for work everyday, and as long as you do not choose "shortest route" option, you'll be right as the "quickest route" option sticks to paved roads and major highways.
Hi M8
I got a little Suzuki Sierra - maybe go bush bashing on the way:D

Hey Norm
The GPS is a Mio c720i -cracked so it's a full on PDA as well ,so if i get totally
lost i can read an ebook hehe.
Great for people new to GPS's that the price has dropped out of the bottom.

Cheers
Dom

I know it's still early yet but with Christmas and New Year holidays just around the corner I thought it was better to ask early - does anyone have a preference for Friday, Saturday or Sunday? (My vote goes to Saturday night - it would be the best for me.)

Any day is fine for me I have a hospital appointment Sunday but that is 10AM.
EDIT: just read Stewart's post and my preference would be for Saturday as well.

You might as well get a upgraded unit then :) Christmas present ahoy!
Too many other things I'd rather spend the money on, I did get an email from them sometime back offering the upgrade for $99, I might upgrade the next time they have that offer.

Wow Stewart -that is worse than me at 12:00 !
My GPS says it's only 2hrs travel to your place so i should be able to have a siesta before taking off hehe.

Cheers

So we having a BBQ or dinner at the pub?

If we're having a BBQ it allows us to start earlier and mingle around more. I'll also get a slab of beer to share.:buddies::drunk:

A dinner sounds too formal...

 not much happening here ,
what do people went to do for tea BBQ or the Pub?
Norm

I'd be happy with either, but I'm leaning towards the pub, depending on what kind of pub it is of course. I'm curious. I don't think a pub would really be too formal... although it depends.

A BBQ could be good too but could be a bit of a bother for Stewart to clean up, whereas with the pub it's nice and easy.

What do you guys think?

Come to think of it, going to the pub for tea might be better as we do not have to battle with flies and insects just to get a decent feed...

Grox, as organiser you make the call: PUB:drunk:
