Melbourne CPF meet

As long as the pub has good food I'm in 😀

I need to update some of my lights soon but with the $AUD as it is it's not looking good. :candle:

So what's the pub like Stewart?
Pub is good-we eat there reasonably regularly.
3mins east is the Home Hotel at Launching Place which has just been voted Vic. country pub of the year.
5 mins west is Woori Yallock hotel .
Both have very good meals with quite a good variety on menu.

P.S. Received an Olight Titanium today to show off. Looks very nice.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Home hotel at Launching Place it is! OP updated.

By the way, did anyone make it to the Christmas lights at the Boulevard, Ivanhoe this year? Lots of kids with light sabers and other gimmicky lights 🙂

How's the steak and mash at the Home Hotel???

What's your favourite on the menu Stu? Are they good sized portions?

Hi --hope Santa was good to you guys.
Click on thumbnails to view menu from Home Hotel--you might have to R/click on image then select view image to see it bigger.
They also have a Chef's Specials board which changes quite often.

Hi Gav,

Portions are usually generous--i doubt you will go hungry and there will be cake, coffee & tea back home for later.

Probably also have fresh blackberries (from garden) and cream or ice cream.
Can't have you wasting away.

Stewart

Damn, I'd've been up for this if it wasn't that weekend... Quite busy...

Enjoy urself guys, I'll be keeping an eye out for another melb gathering =D

Was down at Highpoint S/C today and was at Mitchell's Adventure where they sell all that camping gear stuff... lo and behold... I saw a SUREFIRE X300 weaponlight in the front display cabinet next to all the folding & survival knives, RRP was $446.00!!!😱 The 6P was at a more down to earth price of $125.00:ironic:

I'd be really impressed if they sell even ONE Surefire X300 a year...😗

Is it just me or is it kind of redundant to sell the x300 here at all, semi-auto handguns are illegal AFAIK and even the LEOs in Victoria don't use them, still stuck with the Smith and Wessons until Nixon gets her arse into gear =P

Nah, semi-auto pistols are perfectly legal if you are a member of a pistol shooting club. I'm applying for membership at the Oakleigh Pistol Club at the moment. There are 3 main categories for pistol memberships: .22 rimfire sport, centrefire and silhouette.

I'm planning on getting the GLOCK 17A or the WALTHER P22, both will fit the X300 with their standard mounting rails.

Good ol Nixon is not arming the cops with semi autos is merely because of political correctness. Even though she's retiring as top cop, she's definitely eyeing a seat in the Senate or House of Representatives. So the last thing she wants is to approve GLOCKS as standard issue, and have a spate of fatal shootings or "suicide by cop" on her political resume.
