Merry Christmas - Photon II

The other day I ordered 5 Photon II's in white as Christmas gifts for family and one for myself.

Boy am I impressed! This little baby is smaller, lighter and brighter than I imagined. I like to keep the number of keys and things on my keychain to a minimum, but the Photon II has earned its place.

I get the feeling I'll be giving Photons as gifts quite regularly.

Wow, what a coincidence, I ordered 5 white Photon II's - 4 for gifts and 1 for myself.

I only have an old white Photon II but that was before the switch to the narrow beam. I am really anxious to see how my old wide compares to the new narrow white.

As for giving them as gifts, I think it is about as useful of a relatively cheap gift as one could give. Everyone who has seen the one I have has loved it and marveled at how bright it was.

Good choice of gift Ron

I too bought Photon II's for gifts. 2 green and 1 turqoise. (And a green Krill.) I bought a white Pal for myself. I already have a white Photon II.

I wonder if the Photon II isn't the perfect flashlight to leave in the car? Takes up virtually no space in the glove compartment. Provides more hours of light than a conventional, large, 2 D-cell flashlight. Uses lithium batteries so it will work at lower temps. Has so little mass that if it is really cold, the flashlight and batteries could be quickly warmed in your hand or pocket.

Yes, I do believe the people at Photon will be seeing more orders from me!

IMHO, the best feature of the PhotonII compared with other LED lights of roughly the same size is the switch.

If there is another LED Light with a switch and is as small or smaller than the PhotonII, then I'm very interested.

A waterproof PhotonII with switch would be the best microlight in my most humble opinion.

I have given PhotonII's away as presents too. I try to give people things that they'll find useful...

If I was to keep them in my car, I'd have one clipped onto the sun-visor and one with the tire jack...one taped to the underside of the 'hood' as you Americans call it...If you attach a strong mini magnet to the keyring of the PhotonII, it could hang from the hood whilst you check the engine, or the tailgate when it's open...

The trouble is, they're so small, I've already lost one, and I'm thinking, if they made 'em in bright orange, yellow and green cases as well as black, they'd be harder to loose!

Useful presents? Oh yeah!

Alastair

Just wanted to let you all know that the Photon II's were a big hit. Everyone who got one liked it and commented on how small and bright they are.

Ho Ho Ho

...so they can easily change the batteries themselves -- instead of cursing me for giving them lights with impossible-to-change batteries, like Photons that they just throw away when the light runs out...

Bit late to the ballgame eh? Oh well, it was only 9 months old. Photon 3 is in a love/hate relationship with most people. Check out the hundred some odd threads that mention the photon 3. Do you work for photon? Or just really love them. I don't know that I could bring myself to revive 5 or 6 old threads about ANY flashlight.

Botach=evil demon.

Please don't put links to Botach in your posts. New people may not know how bad they are, and get burned by them. I found out just before I was going to order my Streamlight UltraStinger. I bought it from Brightguy, and received it in 5 days, along with a large number of misc. lamps, lanyards, and other flashlight accessories.

Better late than never. I am reasonably new here and got to searching the archives.

I happen to like the Photon III.

In my opinion, in general, the Photon Micro Lights are the best of all similar type lights.

No, I do not work for LRI, but I sure wish I had invented the Photon lights!

Thanks.

i actually like the innova microlights a lot, i just got one as i couldn't resist for 10 bucks. the on off switch is much more easily operated but the momentary switch is a little harder to operate. rather you have to have your fingers in teh correct position.
