I don't know how many folks use or have the UV filter (I would assume other filters are the same way) but my UV filter and glass window on the end of the light literally EXPLODED with about 5 minutes of use.

It gets hot using the filter and nowhere does it say there is a duty cycle. Even so only being on for 5 minutes is not much of a duty cycle for a light!

I was using the light and it went POOF! There was a flash as some spill was coming through the cracks on the UV filter glass. I shut it down and let it cool and thought just the UV filter part cracked but was shocked to find the window on the flashlight itself had cracked too!

The light itself still works but the window is cracked. I'm going to take pictures and send them to the vendor.

Cheers!

Yikes, that's a scary double :poof:. I've always wondered how HID's behave with the UV filter on, now I know. I was planning on buying one for my AE Xenide, but it doesn't sound like such a good idea anymore.:duh2: Guess that went :poof: too.:p I totally agree with you on the duty cycle, it should definitely last longer that five minutes (as I was hoping it would). I hope you get a new lens for your bezel!
