Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Help Support CPF:

EDIT: One of my trips just got bumped up... leaving in a week and a half.

Steve, I hear you loud and clear. I had lights being worked on for years while some of the best flashlight Cub Scout campouts came and went. Now, my oldest son is in Boy Scouts. And I'm still waiting for the two best mods I've ever had Scott work on for me.

My very humble suggestion is the same for myself and all of us who are into Scott for multiple mods and thousands of dollars in parts and labor and time: move on with our lives and try to not think about this. When Scott has each cpf'ers stuff ready, he will contact us and send us our stuff, whenever that happens. Also, subscribe to this thread to keep updated; Scott DOES read this thread and responds when he feels it to be productive/appropriate.

Hey guys, keep hanging in there. I have a good feeling that things are in motion and work is being done to facilitate a final distribution. Despite what some think, I truly believe Scott is doing everything he can as quickly as possible. Scott will be updating us in the very near future. Thanks

Dan

That's great news! Scott isn't the type to screw over his loyal customers. I knew he'd come through for you. Others can expect the same.

Hi milky,
please send my light to the address you have. it is the same as i have not moved. thanks.

Hi Scott, I sent you an email with my contact info a couple of days ago. Please let me know status when you get a chance. Hope you're doing good. Chago

Hang in there dude, I know it sucks (2 years and returned last month) but at least you know that we are here for you! Ain't that sweet?

So 2 years wait time to receive unfinished product is acceptable?

To me it isn't I'm just tired of not having my lights and complete lack of communication from Scott.

I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed how Scott handles everything.....

No light here either. I exchanged a couple emails with him a few weeks ago, expected to have my light within a few days and then communications stopped.

Well it looks like Scott's hosting a flashaholic get together on May 31st. Maybe you guys that lost your lights can go and show up with a stock maglite instead of a nice flashlight and explain why...:sssh:

I like your style, Rich.

We all know Scott is a stand up guy and I have to assume he wouldn't dream of hosting or attending such an event unless ALL our lights are all back home where they belong. Is this the case, Scott? Can I count on my light being in my hands long before PF... whatever number you're at?

I don't see how everyone in this thread hasn't received a box with their parts in it, AT THE LEAST. If he took one hour a night and organized his projects into boxes or padded envelopes, and shipped one batch a week back to the owners, everyone in this thread would at least have their parts at this point. Based on what I'm seeing, he should just stop modding and focus on returning items to their owners.

Hosting a flashaholic get together is just insulting. He should be working on getting out of this mess.

Good point. Who knows how many lights he has waiting for mods?? Only one from me personally... Lets just say its 100, that's over $500 in shipping alone assuming they will all fit in small priority boxes...

Did you pay Scott for the mod up front? Or does he take payment when he's done?

I think it's a case by case basis. Some pay up front some pay when done and some do half now half upon completion. Depends on what the CPFer and Scott agree on.

EDIT: To answer your question, for this particular mod I have not paid anything yet.

I think the best bet is to take the money from the partial/pre-payments he's received, pay for shipping, then as a second step work to refund the money of the folks who prepaid. I'm sure most of these people would want their lights back first, then money back second. But, that's just my assumption.

I get that he may have money tied up in parts that he needed to acquire to mod the lights, but that's cost he has to eat at this point.

Deep down I hope that he really is working his fingers off trying to do the right thing, but I've lived too long and am cynical about most people's motives.
