My friend, Cory, and I finished the landscaping lighting project in his backyard last Friday. He was interested in some particular light fixture he saw at a nearby miniature golf course (Golfland Camelot in Anaheim of the 91 freeway and Kramer ) They're called the Deco Duro series and are made by Lumatech; a division of Carpenter Lighting.

The fixtures are very popular on miniature golf courses and theme parks but this may be the first time they are used in a residential application. It was a real pain to get these fixtures (we had to order them directly from Carpenter Lighting and their customer service wasn't the best) After many weekends and lots of work digging and running electrical from his garage to the back yard; we finally got it in.

Currently using 40 watt incandescent clear bulbs in them but may consider alternative light sources in the future (anything that will screw into a 120 volt medium base socket and isn't brighter than a 40 watt incandescent bulb will work for our application) I did try some n:Vision "Bright White" compact fluorescent bulbs in them but it turned out to be too bright (it lit up the entire side of the house that was 8 feet away; we only wanted low level lighting along the path leading past the fixture.)

I have a picture of the same light from a different angle but that's all.

Some random picture off the Internet of mini golf courses using such lights.
