Hi all, im looking for a 7x14 mini-lathe but noticed that the ones mentioned in previous threads dont seem to ship to Europe. Im from Malta and lathes are very expensive here. i have found some from the UK but still they do not seem to ship overseas, they are also almost double the price for the same thing.
Does anyone know if any manufacturers/resellers ship mini lathes to europe at reasonable prices ?

How about a 'cheap' prazi? I think the SD-400 is about 7x14. I was gifted a D6000 and it sucks to buy gear for it...

im actually looking for a cheaper version since i have never used a lathe before in my life, so i want a smaller cheaper lathe to start off and maybe then move to something more substantial. the smallest cheapest lathe i have found in Malta costs approx 1500$ which is approx 3 times the price of the 7x12 mini mark, enco , cummins, homier etc.. found in the US even though it is slightly larger than the 7x12 is does not justify the triple price.
Therefore i am looking for a close match with the models found in the US but from Europe

Hi Amonra,

There's a german company that sells them here

The links to follow are:
Productübersicht > Drehen - Bohren - Fräsen > Maschinen: Drehen-Bohren-Fräsen > Drehmaschinen

Price is listed as €545.00 with 16% VAT. I'm not sure if you can get the VAT lifted for Malta or not. Price is €469.83 without VAT. Their shipping address page lists Malta, so they may well ship to you.

Harbor Frieght does ship internationally so that may be an option. They state that all intl shipments are UPS, so you may have weight limit issues.

Northern Tool also states they ship international.. I'm sure many of the shops do, but shipping charges and duties may kill you there.

Hope this helps,
pb
