Hey guys...
Has anyone tried the led kit for the mini mag??? it seems pricey but i dont know much about leds and prices.. thanks

Which?

InReTech: drop in Luxeon Star

Opalec Newbeam: drop in regulated 3 LED module

Technology Associates: drop in single LED that uses the orignial MiniMag relector to keep focus capability

The MagmaLED uses a NiChia or equiv. LED; which will produce approx 6.4cd for just $6 more you can get the InReTECH AA Adapter - and it will put out approx 300-350cd

is the cyan brighter than the white one?
(inretech i mean). How does magma compared to the inretech ( i mean how many magma will be equal to inretech white with the same battery in it?)
how bout opalec?

Once again, brightness, or battery life. 30h with the Magma is nice. OTOH, I'd rather have something like an ARC LS in there and get 3-4 hours of really bright. Lacking that, I think the brightest will be the Inretech cyan I just ordered.

I love the Opalec mod, but having two, I'd like something even brighter.

The question was "is the cyan brighter then the white one?"

That is a unfair question, since they are different colors - and have different applications

The human eye is not linear on brightness nor even on wavelength, it tends to be more sensitive on Green-Yellow; and will vary from person to person

I find the Cyan very bright and quite a nice color, but as other people have done on tests - a white is your best choice for a "all around light"

Colors will affect how you view something, for example the tests done by another member - reading a ordinary map with different colored flashlights; some features of the map will not be seen

The light source that we have been using for millions of years (Sun) is white, and that is what we have evolved to be used to

Its a matter of personal preference and usage

Just FYI, I have a like new black AAA Maglite that I'm looking to get rid of if anyone is interested.

BTW, the Magmaled will fit in a AAA Minimag! Add a bit of RightWright to smooth out the rings, and you have a nice little light!
