Mini Review - New Keychain Lights (photos)

Hi Everyone,
My first review.....
I like small lights, so thought I'd upload some photos of these I haven't seen on CPF yet.
Just a short review as I thought better to put something up even though short, than wait for the day where everything is perfect (aka never).
For speed, all photos were taken with an iphone and zaploaded (zapped to image server) with no editing (sorry if they are too big)

Mini Review is of 3 lights: A&F Firefly, LedLenser Firefly, GENTOS-SK10G

I like this light for a few reasons, of course small size, very light weight, I can not even tell if its on my keychain or not and lastly the wholes that let the red light shine through (ring of fire) are very visible at night from quite a distance so it can be used as a zipper light, dog light or even kid light!
Sealed with an o-ring, certainly splash proof, haven't tried the dunk test yet but its made foor (& sold by ) an outdoor & sporting company so should be ok in the elements.

Led: Red 5mm ?

I bought this quite a few years ago at an electronics store.
The beam is a square donut, brighter and more focused than the A&F, this one caught my eye because it looked like an oversize match (about 5.5mm thin at the body). It used to live on my keychain for a while until I bought a cree EDC a few years back. Not as visible ring of fire as on the A&F but still visible. Although its a bit of an oldy, I didnt recall seeing it on CPF so thought I'd post some pics.

When I saw this light, the Streamlite Nano came to mind. Almost an exact copy.
This one is very very bright for its size though. Check out the beam shots compared to the Lummi Wee and iTP A3EOS. I was very impressed and the price is fairly cheap. Reasonable runtime too. The light has a bluish tint, which I actually like.

Thanks Brian!

Now that I know, I can add some more reviews with pics again soon.

Gotta admit though, what I thought was gonna be 15 minutes took about 2 hours. Maybe the next time a little faster but after doing a tiny review like this, certainly have even more respect for the super reviewers at CPF (and I already had a lot to begin with!)

Hi MK,

>Nice little review
Thanks.

I bought mine on Amazon.co.jp

Not sure its ok to post the link directly (is it?)

I don't think they ship internationally though.
Price is roughly US$14.

tgwnn,

Hi! Thank you for the info! I think it's okay to post a direct link as long as you're not advertising for the company. I'll try to search it. I like my Streamlight Nano...like you mentioned, looks similar to your version. 🙂

Thanks,
MK

Hi MK,

Here's the direct link for the A&F:

For the Streamlight lookalike, the brightness is amazing for the price and 5mm led. Think I'll have to get the Streamlight just to compare. The hotspot is as bright as some lights with many more lumens.

Sorry the pics are not great, will have to work on my speed photography skills.

Here's one more comparison shot of the A&F between a Zebralight H30-Q5 and a AA, its pretty small.

Not that I know of, if many people want one, I could consider buying a few and sending to one person in CONUS, who could post them out.

I found an old $1 lighter that had a multicolor flashing led (red/blue/green).
Thought I'd see if I can swap out the led in my spare A&F.

Now its a multicolor flashing A&F Firefly, highly visible ring-of-fire!

The lighter led uses one more battery than the A&F so I had to bore out the inside to get the extra battery to fit. Luckily the battery holder was plastic so a screwdriver and some elbow grease did the trick.

I discovered, the A&F has multiple o-rings.
One around the led itself directly, one on the underside of the led, a small white (gel) plastic ring (I guess to prevent crushing batteries with twist but this also acts as another seal, and finally another o-ring around the threading.

The flashing effect is cool, maybe a video when I get a chance.

Thanks for the great review. Very interesting lights, too bad they are not available to purchase in the US 🙁

thanks for the review, its nice to see some different brand lights...

just a quick question though... what sort and what size swivel are you using with your lummi raw?
