OK, I am going into new light overload. I bought, at the same time, :
Streamlight 4aa 7 LED light (23.95)
Streamlight 3N 3 LED light (14.95)
CMG Infinity Ultra (21.50)
CMG Reactor (27.25)
All purchased at www.brightguy.com

This is also a nice light, although the "N" batteries might require you to take a trip to Radio Shack, or the internet to replace the relatively hard to find "N" batteries.

Smaller, lighter, and thinner than my Mini-mag Opalec newbeam and BRIGHTER too! (At least on new batteries.)

And a built in rubberized tail cap.

As with the 4AA from Streamlight, they put a graph showing the brightness over time. A refreshing change from all the "150 hour run time" quotes of other led lights.

They post, via a very large graph, so that a reader doesn't miss it, a run time vs beam length:

50 Feet - Start Up
33 Feet - 2 Hours
20 Feet - 12 Hours
10 Feet - 20 Hours
3 feet - 120 Hours

Built in clip.

Nice light.

That is sure some reviews you have posted there. Nice amount of effort. Maybe it's possible to add in some beam shots?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I would love to, but I don't have a digital camera, and while my ISP allows me something like 100 meg of space for a web site, I have never bothered to set one up (and the ironic thing, is that I maintain 2 web sites at work!)

I can take regular pic's, and get them developed with the CD ROM option, let me work on that.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Am I the only one who finds the concept of "beam length" to be ridiculous? It makes it sound like the photons only go so far before they get tired at which point they fall to the ground and form a puddle. Perhaps we could gather them up and reuse them.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I don't know if they specifically say "beam length", I am at work and do not have the documentation in front of me, but it was a graph, showing the "beam length" over time, it looked something like this, (using crude ASCII graphics:

Startup-------------------------
2 Hours-------------------
12 Hours-------------
20 Hours-------
120 Hours ---

I think you are correct though, beam intensity would be a better description. I will check tonight to see the exact terminolgy that they use.

I just looked at the package for the 3N.

The official title is :
"Beam distance over time"
