Sold/Expired Mini Taglight Pre-Pay Sale: A G10, Carbon Fiber, And Titanium EDC

I feel bad for the people that have paid..I don't think nobody should ever have to wait a year, even not more than 3 months to get a flashlight. I hope robert does good and either get the light done or refund the moneys sent.

Many peolple have waited 2 years.

I worry.

I have a Doug Speck Firefly III - he crashed and burned owing a lot of people money.
Several Lummi Raw and Wee. In a bad way. Just read the forums.
Three of Sabrewolf's creations. We all know how that is going. Great lights though!

Perhaps it's me?

Now, where is that McGizmo....... LOL.

And.....my refund request from a month ago has been completely ignored. Nice.

Not surprised one bit. Last time robert was on was for his last post on 9/06/11.

I wonder how much CPF money he has gotten for his minitag's and chimera's that were never completed.

Hall of Shame candidate in my opinion.

While I am pretty ticked off about this whole matter, I'd wager that Robert is well in the hole for the Mini-Tags. That in no way excuses him though. I'm very disgusted that he has just disappeared for over a month and a half. I'd ask for a refund, but I think it's a toss up over which I'd actually see first, the refund or the light.

Really sorry to hear this and apologies for making the issue seem trite. This is very sad.

last time I had a chat with Robert, he completed his move but doesn't have space to work. He's going to be moving again (hopefully soon) and he'll have a workspace.

I'm a bit confused by this. First of all, we have to hear the information second hand, Robert hasn't showed his face in this thread for months, that's not good. Then there is the issue of not having space for working. Was this a surprise that he just found out about after completing his move or did he know all along that he wasn't going to have a spot to set up his shop? If it's the latter, what should I infer from that? This last move appeared to take over half a year to complete, how long is the next move going to take, and then to set up a workstation, etc...?

I'm also concerned that the few people that have received their Mini-Tags haven't said peep about them since. If they were well worth the wait and a great product, I'd figure we'd have a least a few mentions of them. Nope! Other than one selling here secondhand a little while ago and following this thread, there'd be nothing to make you think that any of them have made their way to the customers. I'm starting to feel like I'm just waiting for a big letdown with these things.

Yesterday I returned from a trip abroad to find a parcel containing my Mini Taglight. Whilst the buying experience has been appalling I must say that the light is excellent. Superbly made, very cool piece of gear and very unusual. Hope yours all come through soon.......
I got mine in June. It is an excellent piece of kit. Well made. Small. Bright. Nice surfaces and materials. Not easy to carry in your pocket as it switches itself on regularly. Great to wear on a chain or leather necklace. It's a great light. Not sure it's worth all of this. Having been through this I would buy from a seller who has stock only. The McGizmo model works great. You pay..... A great light arrives.

Thank you, Paa100. This is so good to hear and so reassuring. Great perspective in the end, as well... I'm 100% with you. A rather expensive lesson for me, however...

Just throwing this out there for any owners.

What would happen if the taglight stopped working?
Would you even consider sending it back to Robert, that is if you could ever find him?

I know of a fellow CPF'r whose Titanium taglight stopped working a long while back.
Robert could not promise any type of turnaround time, so this individual just kept the light.

Hall of Shame material folks !

I must admit that the charger concerns me. Its very clever. But if you lose or break it its game over. The mini chimera at least charges off mini USB. This is a small home made resin thing with magnets. It lights up when you put in a USB socket. Very unique....... and irreplaceable.
