hi
does anyone have the miny mitylight (1AAA)
hoe does it compare to other light its size??

I'd buy a white Photon II instead. If you already have a Photon then maybe get one. 1AAA lights don't put out much light. The Mini Mitylite uses a vacuum bulb. Which gives it not only a dim beam but a yellowish-brown one.

I have one of theses lights, cost like $9. It throws a beam decently far, it does pretty good for a little light, like it is, but, yes, the Photon II's are a better way to go, unless it HAS TO BE submersible... Then the Pelican wins.

doesn't it uses xenon bulb like the mity/supermity lite???
is it brighter than the 1AAA mag???
i knoe that the photon white has a MUCH whiter beam and is great for close distance. but i jus couldn't figure out hoe a simple LED and two batteries could cost this much.
the hand/home made led light was little over price.

Well, the Pelican Mini MityLite easily beats the 1AAA Maglite, no question. The beam is pretty weak, but it is whiter and brighter than the Mag. Plus, the Mini MityLite is as tough as nails.

I've been carrying one on my keychain for the past couple of years. It's nice for finding that keyhole at night, looking inside computer equipment, etc. (I carry a SureFire 6P/P61 on my belt for when I need a lot of light.)

The thing I don't like about the Photons is the lithium button batteries. These are just too expensive. Plus, the light itself is too expensive. My white PhotonII is sitting in my drawer.

I would suggest a Princeton Tec Blast. It uses 2 AAA's side by side and is about 4 times brighter than the mitylite. The mitylite is the dimmest light I currently own.

I bought a bunch of Mini-Mity Lites because the local computer electronics store (at the time) had some by the checkout. They were new on the market so I thought I'd check out 'em out.

The other 2AAA side-by-side you're probably thinking of is the UKE Mini-Pocket.

Sure it's kind of dim, but for its size, it's probably the brightest most tightly focused 1AAA flashlight. A 2AAA Blast would be too large for me to carry on my keychain in my pocket. I use it for very specific functions, and it serves those functions very well.

Like all the Flashaholics here, I own other flashlights (Pelican, SureFire, Mag) for other purposes.

thanx davidw.
is the uke mini pocket a good lite??
someone once compare uke 2AAA to the other double cell lite and it out shines so if the uses the same bulb, i guess they r of the same brightness.
any comment on this light itself??

Nope. I'm originally from Alaska. So mail order is what I'm used to. I buy most of my flashlights from Brightguy.com. Most of my Pelicans came from a store in Anchorage called Frigit North. I bought 4 Mini MityLites from them at about $7 each.

I want to go to Fry's. I've passed the one by San Diego and the one by Riverside. But I'm alway's in a hurry to get somewhere. I'll have to plan a trip just for Fry's.

I have a Pelican Mini MityLite and I'm quite satisfied with it. I have it on my keyring, and I use it basically for getting my key in the lock. Got tired of squinting.

I carry my Photon II Microlights in my pocket attached to my SAK. Nice and handy. Didn't like having them on my keyring. If I wanted to use them, I had to drag out all my keys.

I also carry a PrincetonTec Blast in my pocket. Great when you need to throw a small, strong beam of light into a car trunk or under the couch.

Didn't like having the Blast on my keyring. Too bulky for my purposes. The Mini MityLite is perfect for my keyring. I had a AAA Mini Mag, but the MityLite unseated it. Much better beam and very similar in shape and size.

The UKE 2 AAA (side by side) light and the Princeton Tec Blast are close in light output. I would probably say UKE is brighter, but is alos has a slightly narrower beam. I like the size of the UKE better but it has a clear head so light spills out to the sides, while the Blast has a rubber head so light only comes out of the front.
