I want to put in a SSC P7 900 Lumen LED in my 6D but ive heard that you only get 600-700 Lumens max is there anything i can do to get the Promised 900 Lumens? maybe some good rechargeables? plz be detailed Ty

Lumenmax. The P7 LED is 900 bulb lumens. When you factor in light loss from the reflector / lens, that takes things down 20-30% or so.

If you want it to be as bright as possible get a driver that does 2.8amps, and a qualty lens and reflector.

tried mine yesterday..... its super bright, you can not look into it!
I used welding glasses to look at the LED and it works super!

And indeed don't forget the heatsync (max 5 seconds without according SEOUL)

I used this driver

900 lumens is the top of the bin, which means there might be some LEDs that go there, but not many and perhaps not any. It is just the end of the range that they are sorted into.

If you want to get the highest output use a coated ultra clear lens, massive heatsink, and drive the LED to 2.8 amps or even a bit higher. Use a good quality reflector and the loss in the reflector and lens will be quite low.

In any case it is unlikely you can see the difference between 800 and 900. If you want more, use two or three P7s. A Triple P7 light is quite impressive. :faint:

With 6D you need a good driver, or two P7's in series to direct drive them.

Yea you say a big heatsink but would anyone happen to know of one that would fit inside the 6-D Maglite? thnx again im still Pretty new to all this modding :(
