Just bought an Ultrafire 602 D 3W Cree with mini clickie from DX. The quality was really bad in my opinion. The light was not functional until adjustments are made and the Cree emitter was really off center. I dismantle everything and put in a new glass lens and made a new reflector. Planning to put Lambda mini pro driver with Seoul emitter. Now waiting to replace on a faulty ceramic capacity:ohgeez:

snipinglight - can you give more info/review on the quality of the UF 602D clickie light? I was planning to order one, but it sounds like it's pretty poorly made and not on par with the UF 602D twistie which seems pretty well made. Thanks.

Its direct driven with no regulation, and the glass lens is too small and the reflector is not meant for the light since it slips in instead of thread in the bezel and the PCB board is not flushed into the aluminium heatsink and they force the body to mate with the bezel and locktite it leaving a gap. Damn lousy quality. The anodising is ok but on closer look, machine and tooling mark can be seen. I'm now modding the whole light using new materials and should give some decent light.

Wow, what a disappointment. Thanks for the great info. I'll be looking at other lights instead. Good luck with your modding of this light.

Now waiting for SSC P4 emitter :whistle:Tested with UXOJ Luxeon current is 890mA:party:

1meter beam shot from wall, the SSC led driven by the Lambda Mini pro is screaming bright and almost on par with my Fenix P2D on Turbo:rolleyes:

I have the 602D Twisty(sku 3351 at DX), and did not have any of these problems. My CREE is a very small amount off center, but it does not effect the beam quality. It worked fine from day one, and I haven't had an issue with it, other than the threads being way too fine and a PITA to get started and screw back together.

An Ultrafire will never be a Surefire, or a Fenix, so small QC issues (not to the level you had) are expected. That said, the Ultrafires are kind of expensive, even at DX, for what you get. I don't know if the 602D is worth $18.99.

Hi snipinglight,
Where do you get Lambda driver? Can you use any of these drivers?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4735
please let me know pros and cons. It seems most of the drivers use Zetex C310 or C300 chip. Does quality depend on chip or MOSFET used on the board? Anything having upper&lower cut-off, thermal protections (asking too much? :))

Dont waste money buying sku 4735, I bought a few and the output is only 98mA using two fresh batteries. Lambda is better, output at 890mA. Circuit is very tiny but I can help u to perform a quality solder :grin2: and build the light engine.
You can get Lambda at http://home.mchsi.com/~testlight/miniprokit2.htm
Lambda uses maxim 1797 IC with more than 95% efficiency, really good stuff.:grin2:

i'm sure to solder that tiny components is not such a PITA :D
