Our third XPE Triple shipment is nearly ready and we have every intention of producing the fourth. However, no further XPE reservations will be accepted.

So the one I just bought from would fit this new quad?

Your larger bezel is designed for use with the same modules (P60) as work with the smaller bezels found on 6P's and C2's. The only way to get larger components inside is to alter the internal configuration. These changes make the installation of the Quad's larger components a complex and delicate process. User installation may not be possible.

Any plans on producing D36 drop ins since FM have release another type of this tank light. BTW how much difference of lumens output will be between the triple and the quad. i guess the triple will be run on 2.8A but what about the quad, will each emitter getting around 900mA as well? And also will you be still producing both triple and quad since triple is user replaceble drop ins but the quad is not.

Any thrower drop-ins in the works?

We have some prototypes on the bench, but nothing I am blown away by yet.
Definitely would like to bring a powerful thrower to you someday.

We are still working out the details of this experimental build.

The quad output is amazing.

Production plans are also still being worked on.

I really can't say much more right now.

We will update you when the plan is rock solid.

Hi Moddoo,

Now i can't wait for the quad. its amazing what you guys are producing and developing for the benefit of this community. Keep up the good work.

To answer these and a few other questions:

No, the Quad will not fit into the Z44 bezel, or regular P60 drop-in, or triple heat sink.

This is a new assembly, currently based on the M2 bezel.

As the photo shows, we are using the Khatod 25.4mm quad optic.

Darn! Oh well. Just means I need to save up more $, to impress people even more!

I think I'm going to like the quad, even if the dropin can't be set in by the end-user!

Man, I'm going to have to figure out how to make a battery pack for that sucker!

1 more question... How are you going to heatsink that beast?! That's surely got to put out a lot of heat, if running 3.6-4 amps through the dropin.

That is good news in the sense that I will be happy with my future triple XP-G knowing it is still going to be the best D26 drop-in at the time I will receive it. 😉 😀

This setup will operate in excess of 4 amps. IMR cells, 18500 and larger, will be needed for full performance.
That is the interesting part, the driver - is there a better one now that could be used for future triples too (powering them at 3-3.6A :devil🙂 or will the quad be direct-drive relying on the internal resistance of the cells and the resulting voltage sag alone?

Quads look amazing! Will they be single cell only, or could they be driven with 2 AW 18650 2600s?

Configurations are TBD, but all developments for the Quad have the potential to improve the Triple, and vice-versa.

Preliminary testing shows a single 18650/2600 lacks the discharge rate needed to drive a Quad at full power.
However, a two cell version, configured to spread out the load, may be possible.

We hope to provide models, supporting the following battery options:

1 x IMR18500 (1100 mAh)
1 x IMR18650 (1600 mAh)
1 x IMR26500 (2300 mAh)
2 x IMR18500
2 x IMR18650
2 x IMR26500

 Want to tell them about the one even wilder than the quad?

Just kidding, well maybe!

nfetterly,

Orders shipped!

:thanks:

Merry Christmas to me !!

I have the triple (with HAIII 6P body & clicky) in the mail & (ArcMania) SFIII in the mail to me - with (Sabrewolf) mini-chimera either in mail or about to go in mail...

Be interesting to see which one I EDC beside my BB Haiku in AOTH Beavertail holster. You can never carry just one light....
