Just a couple questions..

-Are the leds mounted on direct thermal path mcpcb aluminium?
-Are you going to make it with triple XP-L HI now that they're available?
-What output should I expect from a single high drain 18650 vs 2x18350?

Thanks.

Hi EG, I've been out of the flashlight game for quite some time now, but Oveready is bringing me back in. I was fortunate to read the insider the moment my inbox had it and I had the wonderful opportunity of having first dibs with all options available. I held back though, because I was hoping for a brass bezel option. Any plans to make those again?

The Engineers have the week off, I'll get you the path answer next week.

I can make versions in whatever compatible LEDs make sense. The XPLHI looks good but we've not tested it. If we like the results, I will. But besides good color, throw will have to be close as well.

Here are max LED lumen values for XPL on one and two cells:

We have a variety of parts scheduled for production in the second half of the year. If they existed at Tom's, I would have them already. There are several considerations for making more:

It costs to much to make a single finish/metal at a time so we need to cut more of several options at once. It may take a few months to sell through enough of our SS rings. When we do, brass will be on the list.

During all that, we should also sell through our Triads. So while doing all that, we could also bring back brass Triads. Given both of those, we could also bring back a v5 version of the special brass version:

Sorry, I posted everything we have but are already sold out. Demand is just beyond anything I've seen. A second box is due thurs/friday and I'll post again when ready.

Anyone with technical difficulties, please drop us a line
Congratulations! Gotta be exciting to sell em faster than you can make em and still have pent up demand. Good luck with a great new product. I once complained in a thread that manufacturers are no longer producing anything new and exciting. You've obviously done it.

So i have a question (anyone can offer feedback)...I currently have the first version Moddoolar Pocket Wasp with 291B 18650 body....but I really want a shorty as well...I know these are going to go quick, so my question is, would you recommend purchasing an entirely new light, (body tail and all)? Or should i just purchase the new head, and buy separates to complete the short light? And in full disclosure, i'm not very versed in the Moddoolar lego type world...although i'm extremely intrigued by it and want to get more involved...Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!

I've got an 18650 body(s) - TL65, but REALLY like the TL50 with the shorty zero rez in the tail cap. So the two lights on the left have an 18500 body (TL50 & TL50s) but have the zero rez tailcap that allows the 18650 or 2x18350s to go back into the tailcap.

I resisted the Moddoolar world, but as you may be able to tell, resistance is futile. I only just had enough will power to not buy one of the Oblivion lights....

I'm a big fan of the slim bodies as I can wrap it with paracord and make it easy to hang onto & comfortable....

The natural HA tailcap in the photo will be going on my natural TL50s with my natural HA Wasp head (XPL, trit slots, crenulated ALTiN) - photos tomorrow....

Quick update. Saturday is a postal holiday so we are working hard to assemble everything before the Friday cutoff:

First impression of the wasp XPL head with 2x18350s (AW) with shorty rez tail

For the moonlight folks they are going to like the "dim" setting! The GID optics are almost as bright as the LEDs.

HOLY CRAP !

Seriously this is similar to MAC's triple triple 3300L that I had (2 of). Run time obviously shorter, but...

Short run time started to heat up as expected, but lots of surface area on the head. I'll fresh charge two sets of batteries tomorrow morning when I am in my basement office and I will play around with this.

Aesthetically the head is a work of art. The photos on Oveready.com do not do it justice. Yep this is going to get ALOT of carry time. Look for more of my (non Oveready) lights to go up for sale in the next few days.

And the tint - frankly it was so nice I didn't notice it, it was exactly what I like (I'm a 4500K guy). Did I mention it's bright.

Photos tomorrow..... (yeah I know, photos or it didn't happen....).

Hehe, thanks guys!

What does "Stretchtime" in post #584 mean?

Stretch is a special mode, selectable on the programming page. When off, the light runs in full regulation until the battery is exhausted (2.8v). With stretch turned on, the light runs in full regulation until 3.2v. At 3.2v, it starts to dim in slow 1/33 steps until the battery is exhausted (2.8). These are the same gradual steps used in our thermal regulation system. In practice, you:

  1. give up a few minutes of runtime at full power
  2. gain a bunch of minutes safety power, so you're not left in the dark
  3. have the chance to recharge the battery sooner, so it wears less

In practice, its like having a hybrid regulated + direct drive light, with just the right amount of controlled DD dim just when you need it at the end.

How much for the water bottle?

Thats a Brita Bottle, kept in the fridge for 100 degree days   :D
