Mode Memory broken?

Hello all,

I'm fairly new to LED lights, and I had a question that I couldn't seem to find an answer to through search.

I recently got a ThruNite XML 3 mode drop-in (2.7v-4.2v) with mode memory. I swear the memory worked when I first got it, but I can't seem to get it set anymore. I turn it on, leave it on >2 seconds, turn it off, and when I turn it on again, it has cycled to the next mode.

It's in a Solar Force L2 host, and I've tried this with the stock reverse clicky and an l2-s9 clicky and it won't set.

Is it a common occurrence for mode memory to break but the drop-in remains otherwise functional?

There are dropins that will memorize the mode when left ON for more than 2 seconds, and ones that will memorize mode after being sitched OFF for >2s

Strange, the website said that it's of the type that memorizes the mode when it's on for >2 seconds, but I've been putzing with it a bit more for the last half hour, and it seems that the memory works, but I need to let the light sit off for over a minute before the memory will click in.

Ah well, thanks for the info! At least now I know the thing isn't just broken.
