Recently I read about McGizmos mule.

The mule is a CREE light for closer tasks, without reflector, all flood no throw.
I decided to use a Civictor to make a test with a "poor mans mule".
The result:
beam diameter 2 m at 1 m distance (more than the SF L2 / L4),
very bright/no spot
All I can say: McGizmos concept is genial!
Left: stock civictor, right: modified
The drop-in
The parts (CREE, resistor 1 Ohm)
The + contact
Left: stock Civictor with AA,
Right: modified with AWs 14670 (1100 mAh) 550 mA, runtime 1.45 h
Stock Civictor, distance 2 feet
Modified Civictor
