Hello all,
I have a quick question about modifying a pressure pad designed for an ultrafire c8:
Basically, would it be easy enough to cut of the pressure pad part and simply replace it with an on/off switch like this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-250V-...mponents_Supplies_ET&var=&hash=item3a885d125a

Would the cable that leads to the pressure pad simply have two wires in it that would need spliced/soldered to the switch?

I ask because the pressure pad requires too much effort to use when mounted on my rifle and I would like to switch it on and be able to leave it when it is mounted on my off-road motorbike.

Thanks in advance,
Rex

Usually the little switch in the tailcape of the flashlights sits on a small board which is screwed in the tailcape to make contact with the flashlightbody. So if you can take apart the tailcape you could remove the switch which is usually soldered on the board and then you have your two contacts to which you could solder your switch.

To make it easier you could also just buy the remote switch which isn't that expensive.

Hello,
I may have not explained what I am trying to do very clearly so I will try again:

I already have a remote switch like you posted. However It only keeps the light turned on for as long as you hold the switch down. My question is would it be possibly to cut off the current switch and replace it with one that flicks between off and on? As in to cut of the pressure pad part that is.

Regards,
Rex

That switch will accomplish what you want but's sort of on the large side. Maybe a smaller push button style?

That switch was just an example :p
All I really need to know is If i cut off the pressure pad, will i find two wires that can simply be soldered to a switch?

Thanks

Yes....you can search my older posts to see some pads desected,

But don't you loose too much light from the wire resistance?
